who cares about all the little guilds running around, what have they done against you? All guilds start out little at one point, they just grow larger and better over time. The game is called GUILD wars btw.

I much prefer the Tribes 2 clan system; each clan has a set minimum number of players. You can start a clan yourself, but after a certain amount of time, if you don't have the required minimum number of players, the clan gets removed automatically.
I think such a system in GW would be handy.

Why does it bother you?
Why are you trying to restrict more friendly Guilds? Pathetic and un-needed.

Every day I see this problem in Ascalon d1. Agreed that there are too many guilds running around without a clue. But for small guilds of friends Hall Costs shouldn't be a problem, if people want to GvG and their are 10 people in a guild thats 10k each, which is nothing really. With a higher cost of sigils it will take away some of the less competitive guilds and when buying a sigil it will provide a sense of achievement for your respective guild.
However, if a guild is small and full of nice people then I don't have a problem and they can remain the way they are, for they have done nothing against me.

I'd say if there is a really big number of 2-3 person "Guilds" then there should be some restriction. I can't remember what the minimum for T2 was, maybe about 5? I don't think that's unreasonable.

unsigned...little guilds.. equals new people? would you invite complelte noobs? or good people? guilds helps guild wars attract new people...no 'good guilds'would invite complete new people.. or PVP.. so that limits more PVE wanting a guild of there own.. if sigils are expensive.. the many people denied by guilds will never find a guild.. yet those who can farm and make the gold rewarded with one.. makes the economy happy.

Many people, myself included, like to be in a small, friendly guild, and not one where you are a cog in a wheel; but one where you can make a difference and have a say.

I have a theory of why there are so many guilds.. you know aside from the fact the game is called "Guild Wars." It seems these days getting into a big popular guild is nearly impossible, why?, well because everyone wants in and none of the guilds want them. So of course this leads to "Ill make my own guild and rock everyone"... sadly this rarely becomes true. Another possible reason is people just like to have power over other people, so instead of being random guildmate #76, you can be random guild leader #5670.
Raising prices will not stop people from making guilds, I know this because im one of the poorest people in GW and i still managed to save up enough to go 50/50 on one.
I see no reason to lower the number of guilds, the only way to lower this number is to lower the standards of people in higher ranked guilds. No more of this Guild recuting, but be rank 7+ crap, thats what drive people to make small guilds.

A lot of the top guilds (including those featured on the main GW site) have less than 20 people in the guild. My guild has only 13, and while we intend to grow, I'm keeping the numbers low to promote a sense of community in the guild. Small guilds are often more friendly and work together better. There is no need to eliminate small guilds. They don't cause problems. If a person wants to join a big guild, they can join a big guild. If a small guild says they're big and you join them thinking they are only to find they aren't- well that's why you can leave your guild.
No need. No signature.

No one join my guild if he/she is not my real life friends or a friend's friend.
I have a guild of 3 people and i don't see how it affect you. Instead of having to PM each other, we can just use the guild chat if we arent in the same team. If we didn't had a guild, my friend wouldn't join another anyway.. and it's probably the case for everyone else with a small guild of friend only.

Go sit in ascalon for 30 minute, you'll find 60 guild to join.. and they even have a cape
Note: i find it funny when people advertize that they have a cape.. like if it was so special. (OMGZ!!!11 teyh gota cap!!! i rly wan to jion /pickme /pickme)
Well anyway.. even if my guild was big, it would only be people i know in RL or for over 1 years that could have a chance to join. So it doesn't change anything if it's small or big.

I actually am part of a small guild with mostly school mates. Does it hurt anyone that we don't GvG (other than me, but I suck it up). No, but it is nice to be able to chat will all my REAL friends.

3 people guilds don't need a Guild Hall... what exactly would a rise to sigil prices do to them?

Currently leader of a 2-man guild, although the other member hasn't logged in for 2 months or so. I have a list of friends who are just waiting to join up, though. The second Anet releases a Mac client, we're talking explosive growth!
Explosive!
/unsigned...I don't see how small guilds, even 1-man guilds, have any effect on anyone else.
And I plan on getting my own Guild Hall eventually. Do I need one? No. Do I want one. Yes.

Some little guild bite very hard. Most very good guilds only have around 10 or 15 people. If they are active enough i dont mind that they are small. Im in a small guild too. We train some people than they leave to a other guild. But the core of officers has stayed the same for 7 month now.
Small guild are better than huge ones. You know either other far better.
But thats just me.

This is the problem with GW at the moment to many Guilds as just made long post about but this board as tendancey when you are logged in you have do it twice.I am not makeing that of post but Anet need to get Guild Alliaces as top priority now before some die as I am a moderator on trek gaming site and we deal with clans all the time and seen them come and go.I was about to mearge with Nova Alliance but I bought my own hall.It is ok if friends want to start a guild for the fun of it.I have about 15 members 3 mostly active but i am lookig at recriuting when I am fineshed the game.I believe that the Surrows Furnace update should have wait untill there were guild alliances as some of died even before that it should of been included not just guest.it becomes boring when you have 1 other guildie to play with and there should be a max number of ppl in guild maybe no more say 40.It is ok for those wanting to start guild if it is just for say PvE.
